Bible Journey For Friday, February 24, 2012

24 Feb

Here is today’s Bible reading:  Leviticus 15:1-16:28; Mark 7:1-23; Psalm 40:11-17; Proverbs 10:13-14.

Leviticus 15:31 (NIV)
” ‘You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place, which is among them.’ ”

What makes you unclean in the eyes of God?  Are you actively separating yourself from what makes you unclean?  How seriously do you take God’s holiness and His mandate that His children be holy?  Are you running hard after holiness and away from sin?  May God give us a passion for His holiness.

This one hits me right between the eyes. Like a bullseye. And I justify that which is unclean, by offering up a host of other things which are holy “in his sight” – so He will cut me slack for the things which are not ! Convoluted yes. That is how much I want to hold on to that sin. I am being transformed in this area of my life right now. Thankfully. It is serious. It is painful sometimes, and exacting in it’s conviction. But becoming less so everyday. Starting to see growth and maturity. And then the JOY comes, like an insurance payout for a car that’s been totaled. Got yourself a brand new car ! Yep. And I’m going to be alot more careful this time around, driving it.
