2 Chron. 12:6-7 (NIV)
The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is just.”
[7] When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah: “Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.
Like the Apostle Paul, I want more than anything to know Christ (Phil. 3:10). I do not want to simply know about Him. I want to know Him-- personally, intimately, and experientially. It is not enough for me to hear about Him. I want to see Him with my own eyes.

I’m amazed at not seeing this total lack of humility in me, for as long as I did. Something else I’ve discovered: You do not want to be clueless in this area for long. Because when God goes about humbling us, it is thorough, and at times excruciating. I’m still reeling from the experience. I earnestly pray that next time He calls this to my attention, I act upon it immediately. “/
