A New Year Invitation

29 Dec

Reading through the Bible in a year is a great thing.  Doing it with a bunch of friends is even better.  What if we embarked on a journey through God’s Word together in 2012 and shared regularly what we are learning and how we are growing?  If you would be interested in doing this, respond to me by comment, email, or Facebook personal message.  I will be following a plan that includes daily reading in the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs.  You can follow this plan at the One Year Online Bible.  Another helpful site that follows the same schedule is The Daily Audio Bible.  I really believe there is a lot we can learn from each other.  Plus, we have the opportunity to encourage one another along the way.  I look forward to journeying with you.

I’m doing a reading plan on YouVersion.com – Prof. Horner’s Bible Reading System – yes, it is a lot of reading – 3650 chapters of Bible reading in 2012 – I took and committed myself to Tim Challies challenge – it’s definitely different!!

    Quote from his website:
“Through 2012 I plan to use Professor Horner’s Bible Reading System to read the Bible. This system calls for 10 chapters per day, with each chapter being drawn from a different part of the Bible. This means that over the course of 2012 anyone who uses the plan will go through all the Gospels four times, the Pentateuch twice, Paul’s letters 4-5 times each, the Old Testament wisdom literature six times, all the Psalms at least twice, all the Proverbs as well as Acts a dozen times, and all the way through the Old Testament History and Prophetic books about 1.5 times. That is drinking from the fire hose!”

Here’s the link if anyone else is interested:

Thanks for the great idea. I’ve done a few times before, except I skipped Revelation. With Precepts help I won’t this time.
